Cogent Dynamics Inc. offers special rear damper (shock) upgrade for the 1996-2009 Suzuki DR 650.  The DR is the bike that is Rick's own choice for a 50/50 type Dual-Sport bike.  I now have 26,000 miles on my 2000 DR 650 and  have done several suspension related upgrades. Cogent Dynamics is the clear leader when it comes to your DR650 suspension with many satisfied customers using our shocks and fork modification all over the world.

Our new shock upgrades the performance of the DR shock  to a high level and adds a great deal of additional adjustability to the shock with the added, high quality rebound adjuster located at the clevis end of the shock.  An optional lowering modification is available that provides a continuously  variable ride height adjustment.  Please call us to discuss this option if you require a lowered DR 650.

The Cogent Dynamics Re-engineered DR650 shock has proven to be a very high performance modification that allows the DR650 to fulfill its potential on rough terrain and spirited pavement riding.  As with all Cogent Dynamics dampers, we build each shock with a level of skill and passion that is unmatched in the industry.  Component parts of the Cogent shocks are made in the USA from billet materials on high accuracy CNC machining by motorcycle enthusiasts.  Our shocks are built to perform at a very high level and last.  Cogent Dynamics shocks are not built to be inexpensive, they are built to be the very best we can build them.

Each shock built at Cogent Dynamics is performance tested on our state of the art diagnostic equipment. This extra step is only part of what we do to provide our customers with high quality and reliability.

We offer this upgrade to your stock body at $399 and an optional Mil Spec hard coating (AOL3 Ceramic) is  $125. This coating provides lower internal operating friction, lower temperatures, longer time between servicing as well as extending the longevity of the shock.We also offer a drop-in kit for DIYat only $295. This includes the same parts in a pre-assembled package.

Special pricing on the special hard coating may be available with group builds.We need to have your stock shock in our shop for about 2-3 weeks when the hard coating is being specified.  The re-engineered shock comes back to you with new components including hard chrome shock shaft,  High performance damper piston and valving, quad ring type seal head with DU bushing,  wide range rebound bleed jet and needle and a mounting clevis with aluminum adjuster knob.

  Cogent Dynamics offers the widest range of springs to fit the DR 650 shock.  Actual selection of spring rates may be dependent on other factors relative to rider needs and preferences but the general fitment recommendation follow:
